Floods and landslides in Dawei District

Record rain on 26–27 September flooded Dawei and Thayetchaung and brought hillsides down across Launglon, where people are dead, dozens are missing and a landslide on the only mapped road south stopped rescuers. Every place named in the Dawei Watch report is mapped here on MIMU geography.

Townships of Dawei District

Launglon took the brunt; Yebyu escaped with flooded roads

What the report says about each township, set against what MIMU records there. Low-lying land is the share of the township below 5 m elevation. Mining is the area of mine sites mapped from satellite imagery taken in 2013–16.

Reported sites count the places the report names in each township, including the towns themselves. Rain is the Open-Meteo model total for 26–27 Sep at the township's main town. Yebyu has no model point.
